An update has emerged on a top WWE star who appears to be set to make his return on Friday’s edition of SmackDown.
Former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley was one of the big movers in the 2023 Draft, with the All Mighty selected by SmackDown during the third round on night one of the draft.
Lashley has only wrestled twice for the Blue Brand since the draft, winning his World Heavyweight Title tournament three-way bout on the May 13 show, and losing in the semi-finals to AJ Styles later that night.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), Lashley has been advertised locally for the June 15 episode, indicating that his month-long wrestling hiatus is over.
While Lashley hasn’t been wrestling, there have been plenty of teases about his next storyline, with MVP hinting that the Hurt Business could all reunite on SmackDown.
Lashley is the only former faction member who’s part of the SmackDown roster, however Shelton Benjamin, Cedric Alexander and MVP (via Omos) are all free agents, so can appear for the Blue Brand.
WWE is currently building towards WWE Money in the Bank 2023, which will emanate from the O2 arena in London, England on July 1.
