After news of a”serious” injury to an AEW star emerged following Dynamite, it’s now been reported that it was actually a storyline.
In the main event trios match of Hangman Adam Page, HOOK and Rob Van Dam vs Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland and Brian Cage, Page seemed to have suffered an ankle injury as he landed awkwardly and stayed on the outside for the rest of the match.
Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez reported on Wrestling Observer Radio after the show that it was believed it may have even been a broken angle and Page had to “get it looked at”.
However, since then, Fightful Select reports that they’ve heard it’s actually just a storyline and “as it turns out he’s just very good at his job”.
The report added: “we’re told that this was an angle, and he was fine once he got backstage”.
If true, this likely means the AEW Revolution three-way World Championship match between Page, Joe and Strickland isn’t in jeopardy of being changed after all.
Page himself has not commented on the situation.
We’ll continue to keep you posted with any updates.
