Add this one to the list of things I don’t want to see. According to Mike Johnson on PW Elite Audio, there have been rumours that WWE are planning to do an NXT TakeOver: Saudi Arabia show at some point down the line.
As of writing, NXT has limited its shows to America, Canada and the UK, or as we like to call them, countries that allow women to wrestle.
Johnson said there was talk of possibly holding a TakeOver event in Saudi Arabia ahead of Super Showdown on June 7, but these plans were never confirmed.
It’s entirely likely that because there plans were suggested once, that they will be suggested again in the future, so don’t write it off just yet.
Again, as we mentioned above, it’s unlikely that NXT’s female stars would be allowed to compete, given that they haven’t been able to compete at any Saudi shows thus far, so if WWE thinks holding an NXT show in the country will warm fans to the idea, then they are a bit delusional.
Would you like to see an NXT show in Saudi Arabia? Let us know in the comments.
