WWE is set to return to Madison Square Garden on July 25 for that night’s edition of Monday Night Raw, but it’s sure to be more than just a big night for WWE.
It was on that exact date, July 25, 2002, that Rey Mysterio made his WWE debut against Chavo Guerrero on SmackDown, making that Raw show the 20th anniversary of his debut.
Many WWE stars who also debuted in 2002, such as John Cena, Randy Orton, Batista and Brock Lesnar, have had their anniversaries celebrated either on social media or on Raw in the case of the former two.
Well, it appears as though WWE will be celebrating Rey’s anniversary too, as he appeared in a promo video for the MSG Twitter account, advertising his anniversary for the show.
Rey also noted that he will team with his son Dominik against Finn Balor and Damian Priest of the Judgment Day on the night, though it’s not known if that match will be on the show or a dark main event.
We recently devised a theory about Dominik possibly betraying his father on the anniversary of his debut, which you can read here.
Don’t miss @reymysterio as he celebrates his 20th Anniversary as part of @WWE Monday Night Raw on Jul 25 live from The Garden! #WWERaw
