Santos Escobar Addresses Rey Mysterio WWE Return

Santos Escobar has addressed Rey Mysterio’s surprise return on WWE SmackDown, after almost four months away.

Mysterio showed up on Friday’s (March 1) show to help Carlito defeat Santos Escobar in a Street Fight.

The WWE Hall of Famer had taken time away to recover from an injury, with Mysterio written off TV with an attack from his former stablemate Santos Escobar on the November 10, 2023 episode.

Speaking in a WWE Digital Exclusive interview, Escobar vowed to finish the job and end Rey Mysterio.

Escobar said:

“There was no plan, Byron. It was destiny. Tonight was the final chapter in the book. I said it, and I always deliver. You know it, and they know it. Tonight was the final chapter in this book. LWO was to be eradicated, eliminated.

“I gave Rey a clean way out of this industry, like a legend, with his head held up high. WWE Hall of Famer. This is my time. It was supposed to be my moment, and he took it away. Now tonight, with the so-called surprise return, it’s fair game.

“I will end Rey Mysterio, and this time, there’s not gonna be a surprise comeback. It will be the end of Rey Mysterio and his legacy. The only legacy that’s gonna matter is familia.”

Escobar also took to Twitter with a photo of himself and Mysterio, writing:

This week’s edition of SmackDown was an eventful show, with Dakota Kai also betraying Bayley and re-joining Damage CTRL.
