Ricochet has shared his honest thoughts on his recent pairing with Braun Strowman, believing that fans care more about their clash of styles than they do.
Strowman notably caused a stir following his match with Omos at the November 5 Crown Jewel premium live event. After the battle of the super-heavyweights, Strowman criticised high flying wrestling, tweeting:
Holy hell @TheGiantOmos can you believe we got 47 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and reminded the people that no one cares about all these floppy floppers. Giants and Monster > flippy flipper bag your grocery’s at @kroger #AirportTest #SizeIsThePrize #SwoleIsTheGoal
Strowman was pinned by Ricochet a few weeks later in the SmackDown World Cup Tournament, following interference from IMPERIUM.
The two stars have since joined forces for a number of bouts, including a Miracle on 34th Street Fight against Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci.
Speaking with Stephanie Chase, Ricochet noted that it’s nice to have a monster in his pocket:
“Braun has been great. I’ve known Braun ever since I’ve been in the WWE. He’s always been great, even now, he’s been coming out to help me with Imperium or Hit Row, and I’ve helped him.
“That’s going great. It’s especially great when you and somebody like Braun Strowman to be on the same page.
“It’s always nice to have a monster in your pocket, just in case. Things have been great. If he and I can start to get closer and become together as a tag team, it could be dangerous.”
Ricochet noted that the WWE roster doesn’t really worry about different styles, noting:
“I think the internet talks more about it than the wrestlers do. The internet cares more about it than the wrestlers do.
“For the most part, everyone backstage, they just want to make something together and want to make a work of art for you guys.
“I don’t think anyone really cares (about) a style of anyone else. If you hear it, it’s usually more of the internet than the locker room.”
Ricochet last wrestled on the January 6 edition of SmackDown, defeating Top Dolla in singles action.
