Roman Reigns To Star Alongside The Rock In Fast And Furious Spin Off

Not a headline I would ever have expected to write, but this is 2019 and the world is bizarre. Roman Reigns is going to be starring alongside Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in the Fast and Furious spin-off, Hobbs and Shaw.

Roman, real name Joe Anoa’i, will take the role of The Rock’s brother in the film, which also stars Jason Statham and Idris Elba.

Reigns is The Rock’s real life cousin, something WWE once hoped would get him over.

The brothers roar. A lil’ HOBBS & SHAW exclusive. Good times droppin’ sweat and spillin’ blood with my family, Roman Reigns who’ll be playing my brother in our FAST & FURIOUS UNIVERSE. I’m very proud of his focus, effort and authentic performance in our movie for his very first time on film. I’m also very grateful to spend this quality time with my cousin here in the islands as he takes life one day at a time to recover from leukemia. His perseverance and humility battling this challenge has inspired our entire family as well as millions around the world in our beloved @WWE Universe. Can’t wait to see the “Big Dog” return back to the ring – his positive & focused mindset to return is straight up next level. Til’ then, this sacred Samoan ?? ground you stand on is nourished with our ancestors blood. Today, we nourish it with yours. #WelcomeRomanReigns #Brothers #HobbsAndShaw THIS SUMMER ???

Reigns is currently being treated for Leukaemia, an illness that caused him to leave WWE indefinitely. From reports, we understand that Roman is doing well and his treatment is positive.

The caption on the above photo sounds incredibly positive, with The Rock hinting that Roman is “recovering” from Leukaemia. Of course, we won’t read too much into this and will wait for official word on the situation.

It is not clear how big the role will be or when filming will take place, but once again we wish Roman all the best and hope that this is a sign that things are going well for him.
