While everybody still assumed the Royal Rumble would be taking place at the end of January, it had not been confirmed. Now, it has been confirmed.
During tonight’s TLC pay per view, WWE announced the official date for their next major show. The 2021 Royal Rumble event will be taking place on Sunday, January 31, 2021.
As this is their next pay per view, the fallout from tonight’s show should begin to be built towards the Rumble. Matches have been reported to be on the books for the show but nothing has been officially announced.
The early betting odds had also been revealed for both the men’s and women’s Royal Rumble matches. The official odds listed a large number of potential winners, while the actual winner will likely not be decided until the day of the show.
It was pushed on commentary tonight that the Rumble is the start of the Road to WrestleMania. As such, it is likely that we will see WrestleMania plans start to take shape as we head into WrestleMania season.
