Mercedes Mone/Sasha Banks First AEW Opponent Revealed?

The first match for Mercedes Mone in AEW may have been revealed after the former Sasha Banks opened and closed tonight’s AEW Dynamite.

The main event of AEW Big Business in Boston featured Willow Nightingale taking on Riho.

After Mercedes Mone mentioned having ‘unfinished business’ with Nightingale in her opening promo segment on the show, it seemed possible that the new AEW star could appear again in front of her hometown crowd by the end of the show.

However after Nightingale picked up the victory, the show seemed to be ending until the lights went out.

Then appeared TBS Champion Julia Hart and Skye Blue who attacked Willow Nightingale.

However, the assault wouldn’t last long as AEW’s newly signed Mone was on the scene!

In the end, the beatdown was broken up by the former Sasha Banks who came out and blasted Skye Blue with a punch.

After knocking out Julia Hart with her finishing move, Mercedes and her former opponent in NJPW Willow Nightingale were left together in the ring.

Nightingale raised Mone’s hand before exiting, leaving Mercedes the ring much to the delight of the crowd as they cheered for her AEW debut.

This segment seemed to potentially set up a tag match with Mone and Nightingale taking on Hart and Blue, or even one vs Hart in a singles match for the TBS Championship.

Or, possibly even a ‘respectful’ match against Nightingale – either way, Mone’s first match seems likely to be with some combination of the women that she ended the show with.
