World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins has provided an update on his injury status amid uncertainty over him making WrestleMania.
Rollins suffered an unfortunate injury during his World Heavyweight Championship main event against Jinder Mahal on January 15.
It was revealed last week that Rollins’ injury was a torn MCL and partially torn meniscus, which will put him out of action for a number of weeks, though he was still expected to make WrestleMania.
Rollins announced his injury on this week’s Raw show, where he said that he would make sure he made it to WrestleMania as World Heavyweight Champion.
Speaking to Daniel Cormier on ESPN MMA, Rollins opened up on his injury timetable, noting that his current timeline will see him return in around a month, as well as noting that he hopes to be back in the ring before WrestleMania.
He said:
“I’m hoping to be back at full strength in around a month, around is a month is kinda my timeline. We’ll see what happens, we’re gonna take it day-to-day, I’d like to be back in a month.
“I don’t wanna walk into WrestleMania and that be my first match in like 2 months, three months, that’s not gonna be good for me. I want be able to get back in there, test the wheel out and make sure we’re in a good place so we’ll see how it goes. I’m happy we dodged a bullet & wasn’t anything too serious that was gonna put me on the shelf for 6 to 9 months.”
