Shawn Michaels has commented on WWE NXT opening the Forbidden Door as Charlie Dempsey made his first appearance for All Japan Pro Wrestling.
With recent news that Charlie Dempsey would be appearing at AJPW, it seems that NXT is prime to make history with opening their own Forbidden Door.
While his match in AJPW is forthcoming, Dempsey did make a ring entrance in front of thrilled AJPW fans.
Shawn Michaels wrote on Twitter:
“@WWENXT is about supporting and developing our young Superstars while evolving along the way.
“Help me support #CharlieDempsey as he travels to @alljapan_pw for the Triple Crown Championship on January 3.
“I couldn’t ask for a better Superstar to represent #WWENXT. Good luck!!”
Elsewhere set to make history, WWE’s inaugural ‘New Year’s Knock Out Week’ kicking off with a big Day 1 edition of WWE Raw on Monday.
NXT’s special New Years Evil branded edition on Tuesday, two new offerings on Peacock for the week have also been announced.
NXT New Years Evil is set to host a big NXT Championship match featuring Ilja Dragunov looking to defend his title against Trick Williams.
With Wednesday set to premiere the Best of the Bump for 2023 as well as Best of Premium Live Events for 2023 on Thursday.
Thursday is also set to be the debut of a ‘WWE 2024 preview special’ and then Friday’s edition of SmackDown wrapping up the week with a special episode dubbed ‘New Year’s Revolution’.
