A new Intercontinental Champion was crowned on last night’s (June 10) episode of SmackDown, when Gunther defeated Ricochet to become the new champion.
This victory mark’s Gunther’s first title win on the main roster, and he’s already painted a target on his rather large back.
One certain SmackDown star who has been rather vocal about his desire to capture the Intercontinental Championship is Sheamus, and he’s wasted no time targeting the new champion.
Gunther shared a picture of himself as the champion after the show, to which Sheamus rather simply replied:

Sheamus was one of six names we recently mentioned who could be a good first challenger for Gunther now he is the champion.
