WWE star Sonya Deville has commented on the NXT 2.0 run of her former tag team partner Mandy Rose.
Deville and Rose are real-life best friends. They were also former tag team partners and rivals on the WWE main roster with their feud ending at SummerSlam 2020 in a Loser Leaves Match.
Appearing on the Under The Ring podcast, Sonya Deville says Mandy Rose “looks like a star” right now in her current role as NXT Women’s Champion and Toxic Attraction leader.
Deville said:
“I love just seeing someone come into their prime and come into their own … She went down there and she took an opportunity and made the absolute most out of it. She’s a star, she looks like a star. She’s getting the reps down there and she’s just killing it.”
Sonya went on to discuss who Mandy Rose is and her work ethic, saying:
“We all are so different, we bring such different things to the table, and Mandy is just very talented in a lot of ways. And admirable as a person as well, her work ethic and what she puts into this. So, it’s super cool to see her kind of flourishing … Mandy’s killing it.”
Mandy Rose defeated Raquel Gonzalez for the NXT Women’s Championship last October at Halloween Havoc. She has held the title for 219 days now.
Rose will defend the gold against Wendy Choo at this Saturday’s In Your House Premium Live Event.
