Former WWE Star Clarifies Status For Sting’s AEW Retirement Match AEW

WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash has provided clarification on his previous comments about not attending Sting’s upcoming retirement match.

Sting will wrestle his final match at Sunday’s (March 3) AEW Revolution pay-per-view, teaming with Darby Allin to face off against Matthew and Nicholas Jackson of the Young Bucks.

Ahead of the match, Nash noted that he was asked to be part of Sting’s retirement but couldn’t due to his “positioning with WWE“.

Kevin Nash has now provided further comments on this, noting on the Kliq This podcast that he’s not on WWE’s payroll, he just classes himself as a WWE guy so doesn’t want to appear on AEW TV.

Explaining the situation, Nash said:

“I never said that (that I was on the WWE payroll). What I said is I’m a WWE guy. I can’t have a picture of me in the crowd and underneath it says, ‘Is all Elite.’ I just can’t have that. It just doesn’t work.

“One of my closest f**king friends is Paul Levesque (Triple H). As much as I love Steve and I know he will only have one last match, I will watch it. We will talk about it.

“I haven’t been to a WrestleMania, a RAW, a SmackDown, or any of the other pay-per-views. I haven’t been to any events. I don’t want to go to any place and be around a bunch of people, let alone wrestling people.

“I just don’t want to do it. I’m a hermit and that’s it.”
