Former WWE Star Banned From Sting’s AEW Retirement Match WWE/AEW

Sting’s retirement match takes place at AEW Revolution on March 3, 2024, and a WWE Hall of Famer won’t be in attendance.

At the upcoming pay-per-view, Sting will team with Darby Allin to take on The Young Bucks (Matthew & Nicholas Jackson).

In Sting’s corner will be fellow WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair, however someone who will not be in attendance is Kevin Nash.

Nash revealed that he had been asked to be part of the retirement by Sting himself on the Kliq This podcast, saying:

“He asked me to be a part of it, I just said that … you know, with my positioning with WWE I couldn’t -–

“I couldn’t even be … If I went in the crowd, it would be … you know?”

Commenting that both he and Sting were disappointed that he had to turn down the request, Nash went on to say:

“I think he wanted me to be there because I was just one of the guys who has been there with him the whole run.

“Yeah, I think he was disappointed. I mean, I was disappointed.”

Nash would also reveal the reaction he received when he contacted WWE about the request, stating:

“I asked [WWE] –- you know when you ask and there’s that three-second pause?

“It’s like when you be on the road and you’re like, ‘Hey babe? We’re at Fort Wayne, I’m gonna go to Stewie’s Strip Joint, you got a problem with that?’ Nothing.”

Sting’s final match will see him defend the AEW Tag Team Championships in a tornado tag team match.

It was previously reported that Sting has full control over the outcome of the match on March 2, 2024.
