Who Has Power To Decide Who Wins Sting AEW Retirement Match Revealed AEW

An update has emerged on AEW plans for Sting’s retirement match set for the upcoming Revolution pay-per-view.

With it previously being advertised that Sting will wrestle his final match at the March 3 event, it was seemingly revealed on the January 10 edition of Dynamite that the wrestling veteran will face off against the Young Bucks in a tag-team match.

It was reported following this show that Sting & Darby Allin vs the Young Bucks is ‘actively the plan‘, and one which Sting is on board with.

In a new report from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Sting will have full control over the finish of the bout.

Meltzer explained:

“Any finish (Sting) wants is gonna be the finish.

“If he wants to go out on a loss, Tony’s not gonna say no. If he wants to go out on a win, Tony’s not gonna say no.

“Will he pick the finish? I don’t know that. But he will have the ability to pick the finish if he wants to.

“It’s just a question of… he may not care about the finish.”

Sting was reportedly given the choice about who he wanted to face in his last match, and he chose Matt and Nick Jackson.

The Bucks returned to AEW on Dynamite last week during Sting and Darby Allin’s match against Powerhouse Hobbs and Konosuke Takeshita.

So far, Sting has never lost a match in AEW.

Sting recently compared another rising AEW star with the legendary Great Muta, which you can read more about right here.
