Sting has commented on wrestling a rising AEW star, noting that they have all the tools, comparing them to a wrestling icon.
Sting has wrestled a number of legendary wrestlers during his iconic career, including the recently retired Japanese legend the Great Muta.
During Muta’s retirement tour in 2022, he made an appearance alongside Sting on AEW Rampage, helping he and Darby Allin against the House of Black.
On this week’s Dynamite, Sting faced off against another Japanese star, that being Konosuke Takeshita, and the Stinger had high praise for the rising AEW star.
Taking to Twitter, Takeshita reflected on having the chance to wrestle Sting during his retirement tour, saying:
To be honest, it was very special to be able to fight against Sting. Sting vs Great Muta VHS had a huge impact on me as a kid. Thanks. Then…Who should I target next?
Sting reacted to Takeshita’s tweet, comparing him to the Great Muta, saying:
Another Great Muta in the making. He has all the tools, for sure.
Sting and Darby Allin were confronted by the Young Bucks to close out this week’s Dynamite show, seemingly setting up Sting’s last match for Revolution.
The real reason why the Young Bucks are in Sting’s retirement match has been revealed.
Another Great Muta in the making. He has all the tools, for sure. https://t.co/spzC26sWql
