Oh boy, I can’t wait to completely obliterate my sleeping schedule by watching SummerSlam this year.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the show is expected to run for 6 hours, with 14 matches set to take place on the card.
While this isn’t quite as long as WrestleMania 35, you could still comfortable watch two Lord of the Rings movies and start the third before SummerSlam comes to a close.
Reports are that WWE want to make SummerSlam feel like a second WrestleMania, and I guess part of that is making it so long that fans won’t know what’s going on by the end of it and therefore will come away without too many bad things to say.
The card is actually shaping up pretty nicely, so in that respect I have no doubt it will be an entertaining show. But 6 hours is way too long for anything other than sleep, a flight, or a comforting hug from a man with a beard.
The current confirmed card for SummerSlam is:
-

Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Seth Rollins
-
