‘Leads By Example’ – The Miz Heaps Praise On WWE Star’s Work Ethic

The Miz has hailed the work ethic of legendary WWE star John Cena ahead of his retirement this weekend.

Saturday Night’s Main Event will play host to John Cena’s final WWE match, as the 17-time world champion takes on “The Ring General” GUNTHER in Washington D.C.

Ahead of his big farewell, WWE shared a video to YouTube in which they interviewed many of Cena’s peers and former rivals and asked them what the best advice Cena ever shared with them was.

One of the names who had the most to say about Cena’s lessons was The Miz, who had many run-ins with WWE’s “Greatest of All Time” throughout the years.

Hailing Cena’s work ethic as “different level”, Miz said:

“When people say, ‘Oh he’s the first person here and he’s the last one to leave, and he works really hard’, and you hear everyone talk about that but there’s a different level to it, and John leads by example through that. That’s what I learned from him.

“You want to be in the top spot? You want to be that guy? You have to work harder than everyone.

“Do the things no one else wants to do because everyone’s going to celebrate you when you’re the champion, they don’t ever see the grind, the grit, whatever it takes to be the champion. And when you are the champion they don’t understand what it takes to have that pressure on you.

“John taught me that just by living and being and doing what he needed to do to be the top person he possibly could be. There’s a reason he’s not only been top in WWE, but also in the movies. Anything he puts his mind to he can do.”
