The Rock Addresses Backlash After Arriving Late For WWE WrestleMania 40 Week Appearance WWE

Former multi-time WWE Champion The Rock has addressed the backlash to his late WWE WrestleMania 40 week appearance.

The Rock’s involvement in the build to WWE WrestleMania 40 cannot be underestimated or overvalued.

“The Final Boss” has added a great deal of buzz to this weekend’s events with his regular appearances on Raw and SmackDown helping to bring the hype for Mania to another level.

Ahead of WrestleMania 40, WWE announced “The Great One” would appear at WWE World for a stage appearance on April 4 at 4 p.m. Eastern.

However, The Rock eventually showed up for the event two hours late. In response to fans booing him for being late, he replied and buried the Philadelphia Eagles, saying:

“Are you booing because The Rock was supposed to be here at 4 o’clock? Is that why you’re booing?”

“You’re booing because The Rock was a little late? Is that why you’re booing? Why was The Rock late, you wanna know?”

“You wanna know why The Rock was late? He was watching YouTube, watching Jalen Hurts lose in the playoffs again.”

This trolling response riled up the Philadelphia Eagles fans to boo “The Final Boss” some more. However, The Rock went on to spend about 20 minutes cutting a promo on the stage with Michael Cole.

The Rock will team with Roman Reigns to face Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins in the main event of WrestleMania 40 this Saturday, April 6. For the full lineup for the show, click here.
