AEW
It was reported yesterday by Ariel Helwani that there had been interest from AEW’s Shad and Tony Khan about potentially buying Bellator MMA.
There have been rumours of the MMA promotion looking for a potential sale, while nothing has been announced publicly yet.
However, we may now be able to officially rule out the potential of Bellator being owned by the Khan Family.
Speaking on the Forbidden Door media scrum, Tony Khan was asked about the rumours of he and his father being interested in Bellator.
Khan said that he was surprised to see the report, as they have not had any conversations with Bellator, much less about purchasing the company.
Professional Wrestling and MMA companies being under the same roof is far from unusual in 2023, following the WWE sale to Endeavor and merger with UFC the night after WrestleMania 39.
The Khan Family own both the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars and Premier League Football Club Fulham as well as obviously All Elite Wrestling.
Tony Khan told Jim Varsallone he was surprised to see the report that he and his father were interested in Bellator. He said they've not had any conversations with Bellator MMA at all, much less about buying the company
