Tony Khan Says The TNT Title Means More To AEW Than Other Secondary Titles To Other Companies

The TNT Championship has been a tremendous success because of the inaugural reign of Cody. His open challenge produced a number of fantastic matches week to week and helped elevate the title as a whole. Now, Tony Khan has commented on the title’s success.

During the All Out media conference call, Khan said that the TNT Championship means more to AEW than other secondary titles mean to other companies. One would believe he was talking about WWE’s Intercontinental and United States Championships, however, that is merely speculation. Here is the quote:

“There’s also the eight-man tag and I’d be remiss if I didn’t say how I thought that how Brodie Lee won the championship was a very very strong moment for us and got a big response and shocked a lot of people. The Dark Order, like I said about the Casino Battle Royale, as an organization, as a group of heels, has come a long way from where they were last year and Brodie Lee has the chance to be a great TNT Champion.

The TNT Championship means more in our company than other titles outside of the World Title in other companies if that makes sense. There is a reason there is a TNT Champion. We have this media relationship that means so much to us. It’s our prime source of revenue, it’s our prime source of exposure outside of these huge quarterly pay per views that we build to like All Out.”

Brodie Lee decimated Cody on a recent episode of Dynamite to win the TNT Championship. Since then, the Dark Order has been celebrating and will now face Scorpio Sky, Matt Cardona, and the Natural Nightmares at All Out.
