A pair of AEW stars have lost championship gold at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17.
FTR’s Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler have been in the midst of a high profile losing streak following an amazing 2022 where they claimed three sets of tag team gold.
At ROH Final Battle 2022, FTR lost the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championships to The Briscoes in a Double Dog Collar match.
Last Wednesday, Harwood and Wheeler would then lose the AAA World Tag Team Titles to Dragon Lee and Dralistico. Both of those losses came after FTR came up short against The Acclaimed for the AEW World Tag Team Titles.
On today’s NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 event, the downward spiral for FTR continued as they lost the IWGP World Tag Team Championships to Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI of Bishamon.
FTR now holds zero tag team titles and seem to be on their way to the end of their contracts with All Elite Wrestling in April.
Meanwhile, Bishamon are now two-time IWGP Tag Team Champions following winning their second World Tag League.
We will have further updates on NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 when they become available.
