WWE star Cody Rhodes said that Ring of Honor shaped him as a competitor.
Before returning to WWE in April 2022, Cody Rhodes was one of the founding fathers of All Elite Wrestling where he spent three years.
After leaving WWE in 2016, Rhodes signed with Ring of Honor and debuted at Final Battle 2016. He quickly became one of the promotion’s top stars and won the ROH World Championship at Best In The World 2017.
In a tweet on August 13, 2022, the WWE star responded to a fan who stated that his ROH run was a fun time. He replied:
Lovely time – ROH was so good for me. Got to work w/the Bucks, big Frank, Lethal, Hunter/CD, Joe & Greg, Chrissy, and a super underrated production team that allowed me to play my music uninterrupted. We got to legit change the wrestling world and shaped me as a competitor/person
Cody Rhodes spent two years with ROH before signing with AEW in January 2019 as a wrestler and EVP of the company.
“The American Nightmare” signed with WWE and returned at WrestleMania 38 in April 2022, where he defeated Seth Rollins.
Rhodes defeated Rollins again at both WrestleMania Backlash and Hell In A Cell, but he went down with a torn pectoral muscle and has been sidelined since.
