Truth Revealed About Alleged CM Punk Backstage Incident With WWE Star

The truth has been revealed about a supposed backstage incident involving CM Punk and a WWE star last week.

Although he didn’t make an appearance on the show itself, CM Punk was present at last week’s March 12 WWE NXT taping.

A couple of days later, NXT commentator Booker T said on his podcast:

“I saw Punk. (Laughs). We’ll talk about that off the air. I almost had like a little run-in with CM Punk.

“The internet might wanna pick that up – me and CM Punk almost got into it at NXT this week.

“We’ll talk about it later. I don’t wanna put it out there because they’re gonna pick it up and run with it. But yeah, I’ll talk to you about that off the air.”

Reports emerged pretty soon after that explaining that nobody had heard of such an incident.

Yesterday, March 18, Booker spoke again on his podcast about CM Punk, this time explaining that his comments were for entertainment purposes only and he actually considers Punk a friend.

Booker said:

“Look, me and CM Punk, we won’t be having a fight, okay? I wanna let everyone know out there, I have no ill will towards CM Punk. Contrary to popular belief, I consider CM Punk a friend, alright?

“So when I’m saying something about CM Punk guys, do not take it literally… don’t take it serious. Don’t jump into that mud. If you hear me say anything here on the Hall of Fame, this show, it’s show-related. I’m trying to entertain my fans, I’m trying to entertain the fans that’s watching this, trying to give you guys a moment where you ain’t gotta think about that kinda stuff. Alright?

“So if you hear me say something about CM Punk, Corey Graves, Michael Cole, Brad (co-host), don’t jump into any internet mess, alright? Let’s just get that out there right now. Did I put it out there, did I say as far as I had a beef knowing I was gonna run up… yeah, I said it, but I’m entertaining guys, entertaining.”

Fightful had reported that there was a “sense of frustration” from some WWE sources regarding Booker’s initial comments.
