Two WWE NXT stars are possibly in the running or being looked at for a call-up to the main roster some time soon.
The March 2022 WWE Performance Center recruitment class featured some names who have already made it to the main roster, namely Roxanne Perez and Kiana James.
There are also multiple top NXT stars who were in that class, including some who have been champions in Fallon Henley, Hank Walker, Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo and Sol Ruca.
Other featured NXT TV talents in the same recruitment class almost four years ago were Myles Borne, Thea Hail and Arianna Grace.
Two more talents in that class were Bronco Nima and Lucien Price, collectively known as the tag team Out The Mud or OTM.
Given the trajectory of many of the aforementioned talents in that class, it would stand to reason that WWE could be looking at progressing OTM to the next level, although their progress over the past couple of years has been hampered by some injury issues.
After recently returning to NXT TV, OTM have had a look-in at some main roster shows, as they’ve now worked two WWE Main Event matches in the past month.
The first of those came on September 29 against the War Raiders, with the second being on October 27 against Alpha Academy which aired on this weekend’s episode of the show.
There was a period of time a couple of years ago where NXT talents featured weekly on WWE Main Event so it didn’t really mean anything in the way of potential call-ups, but that hasn’t been the case for a while now.
Outside of OTM, the last time any NXT talents featured on Main Event was almost five months ago, which was Karmen Petrovic and Lainey Reid teaming up against Maxxine Dupri and Natalya.
Given that OTM didn’t just have a one-off match but were actually brought back for a second, there’s potentially reason to believe they’re getting a close look from the main roster.
As noted, the rest of the class when they were recruited are either already on the main roster or have at least been former champions or featured stars in NXT, so there could be some progression for OTM coming up soon to follow their peers.
There could of course be other reasons such as just increasing match sharpness since they’ve been out of action for a little while, or giving them the chance to work with and learn from main roster veterans – but as mentioned, this isn’t a regular occurrence for NXT stars, so we’ll keep you posted if any updates emerge.
OTM have been on NXT TV as recently as this past week, where they had a brief but notable backstage interaction with Trick Williams.
