It was recently announced at John Cena will be returning to WWE on SmackDown. His return is set for February 28, and now we know additional details about the nature of his return.
Regarding John Cena and WrestleMania, I’ve been told they let Cena decide what he wanted to do completely. I would think since he’s coming back this month, he will wrestle on the show.

WrestleVotes reported earlier today Cena has been given free rein to decide his direction for WrestleMania. There is no telling what Cena has in mind for his WrestleMania program but details will be sure to emerge in the coming weeks. Creative control, brother.
Cena has not competed in WWE in over a year. His last match came on Raw in January 2019, when he lost a fatal four-way match to Finn Balor. Last year marked the first calendar year in which Cena did not compete on a single pay per view since prior to his debut in 2002.
He appeared at WrestleMania 35 where he performed a rap battle with Elias before leaving WWE once again. His last appearance came when he appeared on the Raw Reunion special.
