Update On WWE Plans For Returning Star WWE

A new report has provided an update on WWE plans for a returning star.

On the June 19 edition of WWE Raw, Tommaso Ciampa made his return to the company to defeat The Miz in the opening contest.

Conspicuous by his absence was Johnny Gargano, especially with the show emanating from his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio.

Many fans believed Gargano would make his return on the broadcast as well with Seth Rollins having issued an open challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship, but Fightful confirmed that the former NXT Champion was never scheduled to be the opponent.

Per WRKD Wrestling, there are still plans for Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa to reform their DIY tag team on the Monday Night Raw brand.

This reunion will reportedly lead to a program with Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships.

Gargano and Ciampa haven’t teamed with one another since their time on the NXT brand in 2020. They are former NXT Tag Team Champions and widely regarded as the most popular duo in the brand’s history.

Meanwhile, Zayn and Owens are currently scheduled to defend their titles next against Pretty Deadly on the June 30 episode of WWE SmackDown from London, England.
