Vince McMahon Reaction To WWE Absolution Faction Revealed

WWE star Sonya Deville has revealed what Vince McMahon thought of the ‘Absolution’ faction made up of Deville, Paige and Mandy Rose.

The trio came together in November 2017, but Paige was forced to retire from in-ring action due to injury very soon after.

Paige continued to accompany Deville and Rose at ringside for their matches for a little while, but the trio was officially broken up in April 2018 after Paige had announced her retirement and became General Manager of SmackDown.

Speaking in an interview with talkSPORT and referencing what Vince McMahon thought about the group, Deville said:

“I remember being in Gorilla, it wasn’t our debut but maybe like our third week on Raw. We had some kind of segment and we came back through Gorilla and Vince said to someone that told us ‘Oh, this is going to work’.

“He loved the dichotomy between the three of us. I heard that and I remembered being so excited. ‘Oh my god, this is going to be so cool’. I’m the fighter, Paige is the boss in charge, Mandy is the beautiful blonde – we just had such a cool thing going.

“So I was so upset for Paige personally, first and foremost. I would love to have seen where Absolution could have gone.”

Paige is still signed with WWE, but hasn’t appeared on TV since March 2020.

It’s turned out to be quite interesting that Deville is now an authority figure much like Paige was, and Rose is in the ‘Paige role’ of leading her own faction in NXT in Toxic Attraction, made up of Rose, Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne.
