Vince McMahon Wants To Push New Stars In WWE

During his time as Executive Director of Raw, Paul Heyman clearly wanted to push young talent to the top of the card. This was seen with the likes of Murphy, Drew McIntyre, Angel Garza and Aleister Black.

It was even reported that following Heyman’s dismissal as the head of Monday Night Raw, many younger wrestlers were worried about how their positions on the card would be impacted by the huge creative shift.

Many fans were of the impression that Vince McMahon and Bruce Prichard prioritise ratings over building new stars. However, a recent report seems to indicate that this actually isn’t the case.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Vince McMahon is focused on building new talent, especially considering a fair portion of the roster are unable to work due to COVID-19.

“What is notable is that Vince McMahon actually has said that since Mania is over and with a lot of guys missing due to COVID and other reasons, that this is the time where they have to make new stars, which seems to contradict most of what the actual creative is doing”.

This has certainly be seen recently with young up-and-comers Big Show and Christian having matches on Raw over the last couple of weeks.
