Wade Barrett has commented on a “significant change” to WWE management when it comes to pushing new stars who have momentum.
Barrett was a notable casualty in 2010 of being a young star on the rise whose momentum got halted and never reached the World Title level like many believed he could and should have.
Now a WWE announcer for the past few years, Barrett has seen management change from the Vince McMahon era to the Triple H era, and believes current management is a lot better at handling those situations.
On the latest Notsam Wrestling show, Barrett said:
“I think management today are a lot better than they were back in my day (at that). And I think when a certain Superstar, whoever it may be, has some momentum, I think the emphasis from management and creative these days is to continue to build upon that momentum.
“Whereas, that was not the attitude back in the era that we are referring to when I was in Nexus. So I think there is a significant change there.
“So I’m not going up to the young guys, ‘Hey guys, trust me, you think your dreams are getting made? No, they’re gonna get ruined. This business will break your heart kid, trust me on that.’ I’m not doing that.”

Is WWE Management Better Now At Pushing New Stars
There is still some frustration at times from WWE fans when it comes to certain names on the roster not getting positions that some feel they deserve.
LA Knight still hasn’t quite been pushed to world championship level, until recently Carmelo Hayes was widely said to be underutilized, and some other examples.
However, in comparison to the days of Vince McMahon, there’s no doubt that current management does have a better handle on who to push – as evidenced by the recent main roster arrivals of Oba Femi, Trick Williams and Je’Von Evans, and how they’ve been used so far.
