Why The Bar Have Been Absent From WWE TV

Raw‘s tag team division was largely carried on the backs of The Bar – Cesaro and Sheamus – throughout the majority of 2017. The pair had several great matches with Seth Rollins and whoever he was partnered with that week. Cesaro even sacrificed his own teeth and soldiered on to entertain the masses.

Despite obtaining the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships multiple times last year, 2018 has not been so fruitful. After losing the titles to Braun Strowman and Nicholas at WrestleMania 34, the duo was unable to regain them. Sheamus and Cesaro were traded to SmackDown Live not long after but have yet to make an impact.

According to Dave Meltzer via his Twitter account, the absence of the pair is simply down to the fact that WWE Creative has nothing for them. He does note, however, that they are working house shows.

It is comforting to know that no injuries have been involved in the tag team’s absence. This does not take away from the worrying element of WWE once again having nothing substantial on the cards for one of their top duos.

Maybe the life of the Bar has finally run its course. Sheamus has done an incredible amount during his time with WWE including a Royal Rumble win as well as multiple World Championship reigns. Cesaro, on the other hand, has been at the top of the list for many fans and superstars alike to become the face of the company for years now. Including me. Because he is the best. I just want to see him do his old no-handed UFO again, alright?!

It will be interesting to see when the team reappears on WWE TV and in what capacity. Will they enter into a new tag team feud, turn on each other, or amicably part ways for pastures new?
