WWE’s Bayley Shares Heartbreaking Private Text Messages Ahead Of WrestleMania 40 WWE

WWE star Bayley has shared some previous messages between herself and IYO SKY as the pair head to WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia.

At the upcoming PLE, SKY will defend the WWE Women’s Championship against Bayley, though things were not always as fractured between the pair.

The former Damage CTRL leader shared an old message from March 2022 when SKY was known as Io Shirai.

In the message, that can be seen below, Bayley can be seen reaching out to SKY over iMessage, writing:

“Hi Io! This is Bayley. I got your number from Dakota (Kai), I hope that’s okay.

“I have an idea that I want to pitch (text covered by knife emoji) and it would involve you.

“Would you be interested?”

SKY, who was in WWE NXT at the time, responded positively to the suggestion, replying with:

“Hi Bayley!! Of course!! I’m so interested!!”

Happy with this, Bayley would reply with equal enthusiasm, saying:

“Awesome! Maybe I can explain better in person but it would be a…”

The message in the screenshot is cut off at this point, but Shirai would appear with the IYO SKY ring name at SummerSlam in July 2022, alongside Dakota Kai and Bayley.

At Clash at the Castle in the September 2022, the outfit would be named Damage CTRL and would win their match against Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss and Asuka.

Asuka would become a member of Damage CTRL in November 2023 on WWE SmackDown, reuniting with her Kabuki Warriors teammate Kairi Sane who returned to WWE and joined the group at Crown Jewel earlier that month.

On February 2, 2024 on WWE SmackDown, it would be Asuka and Sane who would attack Bayley, who had won the women’s Royal Rumble match in January, with the challenge then being set for WrestleMania 40.

Kai would also turn her back on Bayley on the March 1 episode of WWE SmackDown.
