Former WWE star Matt Riddle has now broken his silence after winning a championship in his NJPW singles debut.
Riddle’s first appearance for NJPW saw him call out NJPW World Television Champion Hiroshi Tanahashi at January’s New Year Dash event.
Following a tag-team match at the January 13 Battle in the Valley, Riddle finally challenged for Tanahashi’s gold at Friday’s (February 23) New Beginning in Sapporo show.
Riddle was ultimately victorious, pinning Tanahashi to become the third ever NJPW World TV Champion.
Matt Riddle has now taken to Twitter and Instagram to share a photo of himself holding the title, standing over Hiroshi Tanahashi.
He captioned the photo:
The King of Bros is back on top and your new Television Champion! Thank you everyone for supporting me and showing me love 🤙

Riddle was released by WWE in September 2023.
