Current Champion Breaks Character To Praise WWE Rival

Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER has broken character to praise The Miz following their match at WWE Survivor Series 2023.

Ahead of the November 25 premium live event, the Ring General would tell The A-Lister that he didn’t respect him.

With GUNTHER wanting to showcase his technical wrestling skill and The Miz looking to secure the win by any means necessary, this weekend’s title match was definitely a clash of styles.

During the post-show press conference, GUNTHER admitted that he actually saw this match against The Miz as a challenge, because The Miz is a typical WWE Superstar, and he isn’t.

Satisfied with the match, GUNTHER stated:

“I mean, everything aside, I can be very satisfied with today. I’ve been in the ring with a two-time Grand Slam Champion somebody that is around forever here.

“I think he’s a guaranteed Hall of Famer down the line. It was a challenge for me because, I mentioned it before, I’m not the typical superstar that is made out of the classic WWE mold.

“So wanted to have that challenge. I told him last week that I don’t think he belongs in the ring and in this sport. He proved today that he does, just not with me. That’s what I think.”

Also during the press conference, Cody Rhodes revealed what Randy Orton said to him following their WarGames match.
