WrestleMania 39 is on April 1 & 2 with only two matches announced so far – Cody Rhodes vs Roman Reigns & Charlotte Flair vs Rhea Ripley.
That match, between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns (assuming he retains at WWE Elimination Chamber), will be for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship whilst Charlotte Flair vs Rhea Ripley will be for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship.
With both nights needing a big main event, Flair has stated that she feels her match should be in consideration.
Speaking to Kevin Raphaël and Pat Laprade on Les anti-pods de la lutte, the seven-time SmackDown Women’s Champion said:
“Rhea and I are main event quality, it’s a main event story, and I want to be in the main event with her. I know it’s going to be that good.”
At WrestleMania 36, Ripley and Flair faced each other for the NXT Women’s Championship, with Flair being victorious in that encounter.
WrestleMania 36 was the first WrestleMania to take place over two nights and also had no fans in attendance due to the Covid restrictions of 2020.
