A WWE star has insinuated that Drew McIntyre was lucky to have won their recent bout, before hinting that they’d like another shot at the Scottish Warrior in the future.
This week’s Raw was certainly an eventful one for McIntyre – not only did he challenge World Heavyweight Champion Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins to a title match at Crown Jewel 2023, but he also made himself a few enemies within the brand’s most dominant faction, Judgment Day.
After Rollins accepted McIntyre’s challenge for November 4, he would be jumped from behind by Señor Money in the Bank Damian Priest, who looked to cash in his contract on Rollins.
However, before Dominik Mysterio could get to the ring with the briefcase, he was halted by McIntyre who stole the case off the NXT North American Champion and flung it up the entrance ramp, allowing enough time for Rollins to recover.
In response to this, Judgment Day hopeful JD McDonagh challenged McIntyre to a match, one that went about as well as many would expect, as the Irish Ace was put away within just four minutes.
Despite McIntyre’s convincing win, McDonagh would take to Twitter to suggest that he was hard done by with the result, while also suggesting the result would maybe be different next time.
McDonagh tweeted:
You might laugh, but I really do think @DMcIntyreWWE nicked a victory on me tonight.
I know I had him hurt there for a minute, I could feel it. That knee was starting to go. Maybe next time.
With McDonagh unable to gain much revenge on Priest’s behalf it remains to be seen whether someone else from the group will step in the way of McIntyre’s pursuit of a third world championship.
Rollins himself has now commented on his match with McIntyre being made official for Crown Jewel, to find out what he had to say check here.
