WWE Fans Furious At Roman Reigns Situation

WWE fans are not happy about the latest news update that’s come out regarding Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

Reigns’ matches have been sporadic in 2023 – including his upcoming match this weekend at Crown Jewel against LA Knight, Reigns has only had seven matches on our screens this year, with two of those not even being defenses of his own championship as his reign now sits at 1,156 days.

A few days ago, Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Reigns was not planned for a match at Survivor Series on November 25, meaning his next PLE match will be at Royal Rumble on January 27.

That would make it nearly three months after his Crown Jewel match, which itself is three months after his most recent match at SummerSlam.

Although fans recognize the success of the Bloodline and Roman Reigns story over the past few years, it’s starting to become a more common criticism that Reigns’ extended absences are becoming a problem.

Here are some of the responses to our post about the news of Reigns likely not wrestling on our screens again until Royal Rumble after this weekend – and specifically missing Survivor Series:

Sigh. Man can’t be bothered to show up for work. He’s taken off now more times than he’s wrestled matches. At least wrestle at Survivor Series in the WarGames match since it looks like the Bloodline will be in it.

This is getting brutal

If WWE lets this happen, it’s not good. I’m okay with him not being on every show or PLE but this is a big one.

Give LA Knight the championship this Reigns “reign” is a farce

Goes on vacation, comes back just for Crown Jewel to make an easy $10,978,645,321.99 and then goes on vacation again. 🤦‍♂️

His record title reign will be remembered more for the lack of defences than any match he’s had. It’s a joke at this point in time.

Reigns did appear on the latest episode of SmackDown for a contract signing segment with LA Knight before Crown Jewel, and will also make an appearance with Knight on SmackDown this coming week which has already been pre-taped as the roster will be travelling to Saudi Arabia in a few days.
