WWE Generated $43.8 Million In Profit This Quarter

WWE’s quarterly earnings meeting was today and they blew away all expectations. WWE reportedly generated $43.8 million in profit this quarter while analysts expected $11.5-12 million.

Dave Meltzer reported the numbers on Twitter earlier today. He indicated there were a number of factors that went into this, but noted the company saved tons of money filming at the Performance Center.

“We’ll have a full story later, but WWE profits for the quarter blew past analyst expectations. They figured $11.5 million to $12 million. Actual was $43.8 million. Lots of factors, but they saved tons in producing at PC and multiple shows together.”

People have also pointed out that this colossal profit doesn’t even take into account all the people the company released back in April. This is because those who were released were paid until July 17. This has reignited criticism of WWE as they clearly did not need to release so many people to ensure they profited.

“Last year’s Q2 profits were $10.4 million. So they quadrupled profits and this doesn’t factor in the talent layoffs because they were still paid through July 17. That tells you just how ridiculous those layoffs were for the bottom line.”

The company has seen such an increase in profits from last year as a result of their SmackDown deal with Fox. Additionally, the pandemic has saved WWE money by producing their shows at their own Performance Center.
