WWE was reportedly set to head to India for the first live event in the country in over five years next month.
The event was internally scheduled to take place on January 18, 2023 at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad.
The event had yet to be officially announced by WWE, and it now seems as though the event won’t be taking place as scheduled.
Per WrestleVotes on Twitter, the planned India live event has been postponed for ‘unspecified reasons’.
They tweeted:
I’m told the proposed WWE Live Event in India scheduled for 1/18 has been postponed for unspecified reasons.
The Indian market is a major market for the company, so the event will likely be rescheduled to take place later in 2023.
WWE recently launched a new campaign alongside Sony Sports Network in the country, including a great promotional video of Drew McIntyre stopping a bank robbery.
