A well known WWE producer personality has returned to his previous role, leading the talent relations department.
John Laurinaitis has performed many roles in WWE, both offscreen and on live TV. It has now been reported that Laurinaitis has returned to his previous role of head of talent relations.
As reported by The Wrestling Observer, Laurinaitis’ familiar responsibilities will now see him report to WWE Executive Vice President of Operations Brad Blum. He starts immediately as General Manager, Talent.
First taking over this role in 2004, Laurinaitis replaced Jim Ross after Ross stepped down from all his executive responsibilities. Laurinaitis performed this role for almost a decade before resigning in 2012.
It has been previously noted that WWE are changing up their talent department. The new divisions are talent management, and talent branding, which will essentially act as a talent agency for WWE stars, booking and scheduling third-party engagements.
As well as being a producer, Laurinaitis was known for portraying an on-screen authority figure between 2011-2012. He has made occasional appearances on WWE TV since.
