Update On WWE Raw Plans During Gap Between USA Network & Netflix Deals

There has been an update on TKO’s plans for WWE Raw for the period between their existing deal with USA Network, and their huge Netflix TV deal beginning in January 2025.

There has been one aspect of the deal that has led to questions from fans.

Raw’s existing deal with USA Network is set to come to an end on October 1, 2024, three months before the deal with Netflix begins on January 1, 2025.

This of course leaves a 90-day window that Raw will be without a broadcast partner to air the program.

During the recent TKO Q4 Earnings Call, TKO CFO Andrew Schleimer addressed the situation, revealing that the goal was to find a temporary home for Raw during this period:

“We also intend to renew our license or find an alternate provider to carry Raw in the U.S. for the 90-day period from October 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024 before it moves to Netflix as described below.

“These domestic licenses together account for a very significant portion of our media segment revenues and profitability.

“No assurances can be provided as to the outcome of these negotiations and, if we are unable to renew existing agreements or find alternative streaming or distribution partners, our results of operations could be adversely impacted.

Schleimer then added that there is positivity regarding WWE’s chances of airing in the fourth quarter of the year, saying:

“We believe Raw will be aired in the fourth quarter. We have no further information. We feel pretty positive about it.”

With just other 10 months until WWE’s 10-year agreement with Netflix begins, WWE CEO Nick Khan has explained how the deal will aid the company becoming a globally localised product.
