Released Star’s First Post-WWE Appearance Announced, Ring Name Confirmed WWE

The first post-WWE appearance of former NXT North American Champion Cameron Grimes has been confirmed, following his WWE departure.

Grimes was one of several names released by WWE during the April 2024 round of talent cuts.

While Grimes is currently in a non-compete period, the former SmackDown star’s first wrestling appearance following his WWE exit has now been confirmed.

Grimes has been announced for the July 27 Elevation Pro Wrestling event. He has been billed as “Trevor Lee”, which was the ring name he used before joining WWE.

Elevation Pro Wrestling took to Twitter to announce Grimes for the show, sharing the following preview:

Cameron Grimes joined WWE in February 2019. He made it to the finals of that year’s NXT Breakout Tournament following wins against Isaiah “Swerve” Scott (Swerve Strickland) and Bronson Reed.

He went on to hold the Million Dollar Championship and North American Title before getting called up to SmackDown in May 2023.

He last wrestled on the April 12 edition of SmackDown, losing to Bron Breakker in just over a minute.

Following his release, Cameron Grimes recalled a backstage power struggle in WWE, which you can read more about right here.
