WWE Name Reveals Interest In Becoming A Commentator WWE

WWE Hall of Famer and Senior Vice President of Live Events, “Road Dogg” Brian James has revealed his on-screen goal before he gets “too old”.

The D-Generation X member has had a lengthy on-screen career and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2019, but there’s one thing he’d still like to do.

Speaking on his Oh You Didn’t Know? podcast, the former five-time WWF Tag Team Champion revealed:

“I think I’m pretty good at talking. I would love, before I get too old, to do commentary.

“I would love to do the (pre-show panel for WWE PLEs).”

While James would reflect that doing talking on WWE television was a challenge, it’s one that he’s certainly up to doing.

He would also discuss his love for talking on his podcast, describing the experience as an “escape” and feeling that his time doing the show would make him a “natural fit” for a commentary style role.

Having served as Senior Vice President of Live Events since January 2022, James would credit both the timing of his promotion and the team behind him for the increase in business at WWE live events.

Most recently, it was reported that SummerSlam 2023 was the most watched non-WrestleMania PLE in company history, continuing a record-breaking run for the company.

During his time on the main roster, Road Dogg also held the WWE Intercontinental Champion and Hardcore Championship.
