Carmelo Hayes faces Baron Corbin in the King of the Ring Tournament on WWE SmackDown, but Bobby Lashley could be a greater threat.
Hayes was called up to the main roster in the 2o24 WWE Draft and quickly found himself in the sights of Bobby Lashley.
They May 4 episode of WWE SmackDown saw the pair backstage, with Hayes and Lashley getting off to a rather terse start with each other.
With Lashley warning Hayes to “be careful who you disrespect around here”, the pair could now face each other in the King of the Ring tournament.
In the first round of the tournament, Hayes faces Corbin while Lashley faces Tama Tonga who made his WWE debut on the April 12 episode of SmackDown.
Hayes has, once again, sent some shade in Lashley’s direction, this time on social media, tweeting:
“I thought a SECOND Round Draft Pick said sum….I can see why he’s hating #SmackDown #FRDP”
He also shared the clip of the warning he received from Lashley to emphasise his point.
This isn’t the first time that Hayes has sent a pointed message in the direction of the former WWE Champion.
At WWE Backlash, Solo Sikoa teamed with Tama Tonga in a match that saw The Bloodline victorious over Kevin Owens and Randy Orton.
