Carmelo Hayes Addresses Confrontation With WWE Star WWE

Carmelo Hayes has now addressed a confrontation he had on Friday’s (May 3) edition of SmackDown, following his main roster call-up.

Following previous appearances for the brand, Hayes was officially called up to SmackDown during the WWE Draft.

During his first match as a SmackDown star, Carmelo Hayes faced off against Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes on the April 26 show.

Hayes appeared in a backstage segment with SmackDown GM Nick Aldis on this week’s episode, during which he declared his intention to enter the King of the Ring tournament.

He was interrupted by Bobby Lashley, who offered to show Hayes the ropes. After Hayes turned this offer down, the duo had a tense verbal exchange, before Lashey warned Hayes to be careful about who he’s disrespecting.

Carmelo Hayes has now taken to Twitter to stand his ground, sharing a clip of the segment with the caption:

Ol heads think they know everything

Hayes was the third overall pick in the 2024 WWE Draft, and SmackDown’s second pick after Bianca Belair.

During his NXT run, Hayes won the 2021 Breakout Tournament, North American Championship, Cruiserweight Title and main NXT Championship.
