WWE Star Breaking Away From Tag Team Partner

WWE Star Breaking Away From Tag Team Partner WWE

Don’t call it a breakup, it’s just a break! Find out which NXT tag team revealed they were taking an indefinite hiatus.

While Carmelo Hayes may have retained his NXT Championship at NXT Great American Bash against Ilja Dragunov, the match finish led to speculation about the future of Hayes’ relationship with Trick Williams.

In recent weeks, there has been a noticeably bigger focus on Williams, and it seems like that was for a reason.

In a backstage segment on tonight’s episode of NXT, Trick Williams addressed the situation directly.

And Trick wanted to clarify to the champ, it wasn’t a break up!

The segment sought to explain that while there wasn’t any actual heat between Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams, something of a split is still incoming.

Williams told the champ that they didn’t have any beef and this wasn’t a breakup – he just needs to be his own man.

And part of being his own man was finishing up his unfinished business with Ilja Dragunov, who had struck Williams during the match with Hayes as well as having a falling out a couple of weeks prior.

Carmelo Hayes seemed supportive of Trick Williams’ plans for the future and there wasn’t any strife between the pair, rather they seem to be parting ways amicably.

Hayes and Williams had been a pairing on-screen ever since the first episode of NXT 2.0 in September 2021.

Tonight Hayes will have a different partner, as he teams with former North American Champion Wes Lee against Noam Dar and Oro Mensah later in the show.
