It was announced earlier today that CM Punk had been fired by AEW, and there’s a certain WWE star you could always count on to react.
Whenever there’s a joke to be made about something in the world of wrestling news, you can always rely on Grayson Waller.
And Waller didn’t disappoint tonight as he posted what looked to be a pretty clear reference to Punk on Twitter after Waller’s segment at Payback tonight.
Waller hosted the Grayson Waller Effect with special guest Cody Rhodes, who said he had some big news to announce.
That news ended up being the return of Jey Uso, who has now been moved to Raw.
After he came out, Jey superkicked Waller, and now Waller has taken to Twitter to react to that, while also seemingly referencing Punk.
Waller wrote:
“Jey Uso attacking me unprovoked on my own show- fire this man!”
However, even more notably, Waller was using a can of Pepsi – which is obviously heavily associated with CM Punk – as an ice pack for his sore face.
Punk has a tattoo of the Pepsi logo and even a signature move called the Pepsi Plunge.
Waller also mentioned during his segment with Cody that he wasn’t going to attack Cody because that would have been “unprofessional”.
Tony Khan opened tonight’s AEW Collision with a statement saying he felt his “life was in danger” during the Punk incident backstage at All Out.
