A WWE star has returned to television after nearly a year away on tonight’s cold open to NXT Heatwave.
In an amusing cold open to Heatwave tonight (August 22), Tony D’Angelo and Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo were hanging out in a pool, chatting about the upcoming card.
When a group of young ladies joined them, if one in particular looked familiar, it is because it’s returning NXT star Arianna Grace!
The real-life daughter of former WWE star Santino Marella has been absent from NXT television rehabbing an ACL injury, having last wrestled in October last year.
However, she certainly hasn’t just been hanging around at home while recovering – instead, Grace recently competed in Canada’s Miss Universe pageant, which she placed in the top 20.
Updating fans at the beginning of this month that she had resumed doing her in-ring training, Grace may be seen on our screens back in the ring sooner rather than later!
During tonight’s segment, there was actually a reference to the real-life relationship between Grace and Stacks, which is the first time that’s been referenced on TV.
WWE Heatwave kicked off the action with Ilja Dragunov facing off against Trick Williams, with the former picking up the win.
