WWE Tag Team Breaks Up, Member Potentially Joining New Faction WWE

A WWE tag team has broken up and one of its members may be about to join a new faction of teammates entirely.

The main event of last night’s January 16 episode of NXT was a 20-woman battle royal to determine who would challenge NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria at Vengeance Day, which was eventually won by Roxanne Perez.

Two of the other participants were the tag team of Lola Vice and Elektra Lopez, who, coming out of the match, are a tag team no more.

A few weeks ago, Vice won the 2023 women’s NXT Breakout Tournament, which earned her a contract she can cash in for any championship match at any time.

Ever since she won that, Lopez had been suggesting she should use it for a tag team title match rather than a singles title match, which Vice never really seemed on board with.

Things boiled over in the battle royal, which resulted in Vice eliminating Lopez and then both of them brawling up the ramp after Vice had also been eliminated.

In terms of what’s next, Vice is likely to continue in NXT as a singles talent with that title shot up her sleeve, while things could be a bit different for Lopez.

A number of weeks ago, it was reported that WWE had at least ‘discussed’ the idea of Lopez joining Santos Escobar’s new ‘Legado World Order’ group on SmackDown with Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo.

Moreover, Lopez worked several pre-Raw Main Event tapings in a row recently, which is a definite indication that main roster management was having a look at her.

This tag team break up obviously paves the way for Lopez to change paths and join Escobar’s group if that’s the decision that’s been made.

Lopez has yet to address the break-up, while Vice, along with retweeting a sea of tweets supporting her, wrote:

“she was dead weight all along, FUERA!”

We’ll keep you posted with any further updates.
